Cost & Timing

Overview of Charges

In estimating the total cost of your matter, you should anticipate legal costs plus disbursements. Disbursements are payments to third parties (e.g. filing fees paid to the Home Office) and are charged in addition to our firm’s legal fee for assisting with the matter. Please also note that VAT at a rate of 20% will apply in addition to our fee unless an exemption applies.

Fees and Disbursements

Our firm generally works on a fixed fee basis. Our fee quote will depend on the type of application we are assisting with, along with any additional factors such as complicated immigration history, criminal convictions, time sensitivity and factual complexity. We have provided an outline of our fee ranges along with anticipated costs/disbursements here, however please contact us for a fixed fee quote which is tailored to your individual circumstances.

Key Stages

Generally speaking, our fixed fee includes full advice on your circumstances and application type along with white-glove assistance with each stage of the process. In completing your instruction, we expect to advise on the requirements and process involved in the relevant application, draft any required documents, review supporting documents, prepare application package(s), assist with the submission process (including any biometric appointment), and advise on the next steps once the matter has completed. Of course, the exact assistance required will vary depending on the nature of the instruction, and we can provide a full outline of what our fixed fee includes for your particular matter on request.

Timing

We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process an application. We can provide an estimate for your particular application type and location on request, which will be based on current processing times. You can also view the Home Office’s published processing times here (for applications submitted outside the UK) or here (for applications submitted within the UK).

In terms of submitting your application to the Home Office, we can normally achieve this within one to four weeks of you instructing us, however timing is often influenced by external factors such as how quickly you are able to provide us with the required information/documents.

Our Team

Your case will be handled by a trusted member of our experienced team, who will usually be a qualified Solicitor and/or an experienced paralegal. You will be introduced to your legal team at the outset of your instruction, including full details of their background and qualifications. Regardless of who is working on your case, the matter will be supervised by one of our founding partners, Lynn McCloghry and Faydelys Robinson, who are both qualified as Solicitors in England & Wales (further details can be found here).
